Kalerion takes your safety and security very seriously. If we didn't, we'd be closed down.
We abide by the relevant data protection laws in all the countries in which we operate. For further details of our policies with regard to privacy and protection of your personal data, please consult our Terms and Conditions.
Kalerion provides multiple levels of protection to our members. For the web-based service, your personal profile is protected by your individual login and password, and cannot be accessed by other members. We never disclose any details from your personal data which reveal your identity. You can choose to block contact from any other Kalerion member using the blacklisting function on that member's profile page. Once you blacklist another member in this way, you and that person become invisible to each other, for both the web-based and mobile services.
We carefully screen applications for Kalerion membership to be confident that those we approve are genuine and of high-caliber. But in the event that you see a profile which you believe is not genuine, please report it to us using the member feedback page.
For the mobile-based service, security is clearly even more important. Again, we provide multiple levels of protection. Only the presence of another Kalerion member can trigger a proximity alert, and in the event of an alert, no detail whatsoever is given to either party about the other person or persons involved in the alert. Not even as to whether this is the first or a subsequent detection of another person. In the event that one or other party decides to send a message, this message contains only that party’s Jivebug mobile alias and no personal data. By design, a member's mobile alias does not lead to his or her web profile. The sending of a member’s photo in a mobile exchange is entirely at the sender’s discretion. Independently of whether your phone supports Jivebug, you can block messages resulting from a mobile encounter. You then become invisible to the blocked person; even should you and the blocked handset re-enter Bluetooth range, no proximity alert will be generated. Finally, if you receive a message you consider unacceptable you can report the sender to Kalerion using the Member Feedback button when logged-in to your online account.
