What is Kalerion?
Kalerion is the next generation in dating services. Kalerion
combines the familiar model of online dating with the thrill and immediacy of
meeting people in the real world, in the here and now. It’s the fusion of old
fashioned romance with modern radio frequency technologies. Kalerion lets you
chill out in your favourite bars and haunts, while your mobile phone looks
after finding your next love interest.
The advent of the Internet allowed
dating to go online. But in going online, dating became something rather
virtual - putting you in front of a PC monitor for your first meeting with that
special someone. Kalerion aims to change all that, and to get you thinking on
your feet again, by bringing spontaneity and intrigue back into the humble art
of courtship.
What’s different about Kalerion?
In comparison to web-only dating services, we offer you live
meetings in the real world with real people. In comparison to the companies
who’ll ship you a bluetooth-proximity tool and then abandon you, we promise to
look after you once you’ve downloaded our mobile detection software. We provide
a variety of ongoing services to increase your chances of meeting another
member both online and off, and we carefully select the people who are invited
to join Kalerion, so that when you do meet someone, you can be reasonably sure
this is someone worth meeting.
How does it work?
We ask you to complete a short but revealing profile about yourself, and the person you're looking for. Along the way we test your charisma with the Kalerion Charisma Test. When your application has been approved we send you a small software application called Jivebug, and we ask that you install this in your Bluetooth mobile phone. Once installed, and when activated by you, Jivebug continually scans the immediate vicinity of wherever you are in search of other Kalerion members that fit your seek profile. When it finds a match it discreetly lets you know. At this stage, all identities are hidden. If you decide to take the plunge and send your match a text, the only information transmitted identifying you is your Jivebug mobile alias. To help preserve your privacy, and maintain some level of mystery, we do not automatically transmit your photo to the other person. Later on, as your digital conversation develops, you can send your photo if you like. And just to be on the safe side, your Jivebug mobile alias and Kalerion login are different, so that your suitors can't go home and figure out what you look like just by knowing your mobile alias.

What is the Kalerion Charisma Test?
We want to keep Kalerion special. The Charisma Test is one way
we do this. Kalerion Charisma is a psychometric test which briefly presents you
with a romantic situation and asks you what you would do if you found yourself
in it. The answer is completely open, allowing you to impress us with your
flair and creativity, and well, charisma.
Is my answer to the Kalerion Charisma
Test ever made public?
Not unless you give us permission. All Charisma Test responses are by design completely confidential, only being seen by our moderators. If we consider your answer to be exceptionally charismatic, we will write to you and ask if you would like to have your answer displayed as part of your published profile, thereby adding the perfect finishing touch to your online resume.
How long does it take for my profile to
be approved?
We undertake to approve profiles within 2 working days.
Does anyone at Kalerion actually read
and check my profile?
You bet we do. We have an international team of moderators whose
job is it to carefully review all applications for Kalerion membership,
especially copy which will following approval be published as part of your
online profile. So please use your common sense here. We can’t publish anything
offensive, or which reveals your identity, or which doesn’t appear to have
anything to do with dating, or is simply gibberish. We apply similar rigour to
your personal photo…
What was wrong with my photo?
Your photo is often what people look at first when they check
out your profile. So it's important that you're looking your best. The photo
you send should be flattering, but not so much that we have to censor it!
The
image we receive must be a photo (not a drawing, not a sketch etc.) and it
should show only you. Since the image may be seen on the screen of a mobile
phone, your face should be clearly visible. Naturally, we cannot publish any
photo which we don't consider in good taste. Your photo should measure at least
100 pixels wide by 120 high.

What is the difference between a mobile
phone supported by Jivebug, and one which isn't?
If your phone supports Jivebug, you can detect everyone who has
a Bluetooth handset registered with Kalerion. If your phone doesn't, you're
relying on other phones which do support Jivebug, to detect you. You’ll still
receive proximity alerts, but not so many, since the other phone must always be
a model running Jivebug. The long and the short of all this is that if your
phone doesn't yet support Jivebug, we'd recommend that you consider upgrading
to one that does. Check out “Find out here if your mobile’s supported” on the
Kalerion.com homepage for the latest list. Fortunately, nearly all new mobile
phones which support Bluetooth will also support Jivebug.
